Thanks to a $82,000 grant from the Union of BC Municipalities through its Disaster Risk Reduction - Climate Adaptation program, the District has completed the replacement of the HVAC system in the Peachland Community Centre.

The centre's air conditioning and heating system is relied up on daily during the summer for cooling and in the winter for heating. During extreme heat emergencies, the centre is a designated public cooling centre, making this a critical piece of public infrastructure. The new system is also more energy efficient, helping the District achieve sustainability goals for its infrastructure.

The former system had required multiple service calls and repair costs before the District was able to secure this grant funding.
