Peachland has great access to Okanagan Lake, and for dogs that love the water, Peachland has a lot of areas where they can go for a swim or cool down.
ON-LEASH:
Dogs on-leash are welcome on any beach that is not a designated swim beach. Designated swim areas are delineated in the water with Swim Buoys and the sidewalk. Where no sidewalk exists, the beach area begins 1 metre from the paved road.
Additionally, areas along Beach Avenue, that are marked with 'Dog Beach' signs are places where you can let your dog have access to the water. While they need to be on-leash when they are on the beach, they can be off-leash if actively swimming/playing in the water. So, when they're done, clip them back on-leash to respect other beach users, and those walking on Centennial Walkway.
Help keep Peachland dog friendly! Respect other beach users and people walking by, by ensuring your dog is on leash and under your control in these areas.
OFF-LEASH:
There is a designated off-leash dog beach located near the Princeton Rd/Hwy 97 intersection, just past the boat launch. This is called the "T" Boat Launch, or Doggy Beach, to the locals. The area is mostly fenced providing a place for dogs to run and play in the water. Keep in mind the following:
Aggressive dogs are no fun for other dogs. Supervise your dogs and if you see them becoming aggressive towards others, remove them, or take them away from the action and allow them to calm down before playing again
Food can cause dogs to act differently, even aggressively. A dog park is not the place for your picnic.
Small children need to be supervised when in designated dog areas. Shrill voices and erratic movements can irritate some dogs. There are lots of places along Beach Avenue for you to access the water with small children.
Pick up the poop and keep the area clean. There is a garbage provided just for this, so don't be lazy. Don't ruin someone's day at the beach because they stepped in your dog's poop.
Dogs are not permitted in the areas identified below. You may be subject to fines if you are in this area with your dog.
Parks with playgrounds - including but not limited to Turner Park and Heritage Park. Only those parks with playgrounds under the Pilot Project permit dogs on-leash. See note above.
Sports fields - including but not limited to Cousins Park;
Cemetery

A recent addition to Peachland's dog-friendly areas, the Sanderson Road off-leash dog park has 2 fully fenced areas for dogs to play. Lots of parking and an area for high energy dogs, and low energy dogs makes this a great place to visit. Visit the RDCO website to view a map of dog friendly parks in the Regional District.
Please respect the homeowners and wildlife in this area!
